Adele is halfway to an EGOT after her Oscar win

With her original song win for “Skyfall,” Adele came one step closer to scoring an “EGOT” — that glorious grand slam of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards made famous by “30 Rock.”
Adele is now halfway to EGOT-ing. She just needs to lock down an Emmy and a Tony. If anyone can do it, it's Adele. #OSCARS
— E! News (@enews) February 25, 2013Adele will EGOT in our lifetime, I know that much is true.
— Lindsay Zoladz (@lindsayzoladz) February 25, 2013But Adele fans probably shouldn’t get too pumped. The British songstress told reporters she has no plans for “Rolling in the Deep: The Musical,” the L.A. Times reports.
“That’s not in my probability for the moment. No offense,” she said backstage at the Dolby Theater. As for her Emmy chances, Adele joked: “Maybe I’ll do an HBO special like Beyonce did.”
There have only been roughly a dozen EGOT winners in Hollywood history, and some of them only just squeaked in. Audrey Hepburn’s Grammy was for a children’s spoken word album, which almost shouldn’t count. And Barbra Streisand, who performed at Sunday’s ceremonies, is considered an EGOT winner — but her “Special Tony Award” was honorary.

Martin Scorsese, Julie Andrews, Maggie Smith and Kate Winslet each boast three wins, as do at least 60 others who are all a bit closer than Adele. Plus the singer, who became a mom in October, admitted at the Grammys that she hasn’t been working on any new material.
For the sake of awards-show viewers everywhere, we can only hope she wins more. The adorableness of Adele’s acceptance speeches is legend.
